The SPDR Dow Jones Global Real Estate ETF (RWO) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 716,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 107,000. Shares of RWO were down about 1.4% on the day.

In trading on Friday, the iShares US Aerospace & Defense ETF (ITA) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 1.8% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Spirit Aerosystems Holdings (SPR), up about 7.5% and shares of Boeing (BA), up about 4.6% on the day.

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ), where 2,850,000 units were destroyed, or a 2.5% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of GDXJ, in morning trading today Kinross Gold Corporation (KGC) is off about 1.5%, and Gold Fields (GFI) is lower by about 2.8%.

Comparing units outstanding versus one week ago at the coverage universe of ETFs at ETF Channel, the biggest inflow was seen in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), which added 17,000,000 units, or a 1.8% increase week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPY, in morning trading today Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is up about 1.8%, and Apple (AAPL) is lower by about 0.1%.

The iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol USA Small-Cap ETF (SMMV) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 351,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 47,000. Shares of SMMV were up about 0.1% on the day.

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR Bloomberg Barclays High Yield Bond ETF (JNK), where 2,200,000 units were destroyed, or a 2.5% decrease week over week. And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the iShares Bloomberg Roll Select Commodity Strategy ETF (CMDY), which lost 200,000 of its units, representing a 25.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior.

Comparing units outstanding versus one week ago at the coverage universe of ETFs at ETF Channel, the biggest inflow was seen in The Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLB), which added 7,450,000 units, or a 10.2% increase week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLB, in morning trading today Linde (LIN) is up about 0.6%, and Dupont de Nemours (DD) is relatively unchanged.

The SPDR Wells Fargo Preferred Stock ETF (PSK) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 769,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 157,000. Shares of PSK were up about 0.2% on the day.

In trading on Wednesday, the Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 3.3% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Fortuna Silver Mines (FSM), up about 10.7% and shares of Hecla Mining (HL), up about 10.2% on the day.
